Caerys Callaghan

Hi I’m Caerys :)

Before I started writing novels, I used to study music, like literally my whole life. I was a runner up in Flamingo Land's Got Talent 2009! (I was 9 years old lol).

Being raised in Liverpool, music has always been a huge part of my life — it still is, it’s what helps me write! I also dabbled in a bit of musical theatre, but I have the rhythm of a vomiting chihuahua, so that wasn't really for me in the end. My love of song writing, turned into an obsession with writing overall, so somewhere between university and working full time, I decided to take a risk and switch careers. It was scary, slightly overwhelming and sometimes I wasn't sure if i was making the right decision, but every song I wrote told a story. I realised that’s what I wanted to do all along: tell stories.

First and foremost, I'm a reader, raised on gothic, supernatural comedies like The Darren Shan Saga, the Mortal Instruments, Percy Jackson and TV shows like Ruby Gloom, Teen Wolf and Young Dracula — If it's dark, gloomy and kinda funny then give me twenty.

Bonus points if there's a hot guy with fangs!

I may not have a formal background in literature, but I'm quite literally determined to make writing my full time career anyway, because I love it.

You don’t always have to be qualified to create something meaningful!
